IPANEMA ADEUS 1974 - drama, 83 minutos

IPANEMA ADEUS (Goodbye Ipanema) is a film about the possibilities of the dream, of overcoming the routine of the daily life. Carlos is the main character of the film, a young executive professional, earning a high salary, married to a beautiful woman, living in a confortable flat, with a luxurious automobile, the father of three lovely children, who enjoys his life. In his spare time he likes to have a drink with friends and relax on the Ipanema Beach. All this should make him happy, but this is his daily life.

So Carlos abandons everything and decides to become a fisherman in Porto Seguro, on the south coast of Bahia, Brazil. This is the dream substitute. A young woman accepts the invitation to go with him: Gilda. But when they arrive in "paradise" she convinces him that he has no talent as a fisherman, and suggests he start a hotel enterprise in Porto Seguro. After that, Gilda decides to come back to Rio. The everyday routine again becomes to fence in the dream. Back in Rio, Carlos perceives that the dream is over. IPANEMA ADEUS is a drama that has certainly crossed most people's minds.
